Our weekend Art worshops are ongoing for children and adults. The three major workshops currently running are Accessories with beads, Adinkra Symbols and Self Portrait.
• Accessories with Beads (runs every Saturday): This workshop builds the participants up by teaching them how to create unique forms of jewellery using local beads. The workshop creates the ability to orient the individual to create things with their own hands.
• Self Portrait (Alternates with Adinkra): This workshop looks to free the participants to deconstruct their notion of art and apply it more practically and freely. What is learnt from one could be applied in the other workshops which facilitate the learning experience. The elements of drawing and painting are tools used to represent ones self.
• Adinkra Symbols: This workshop is tailored at recyling elements and materials in our environment to produce a new way of relating to them and also realize the implications of either using or neglecting them. The fusion of colours and patterns to create a unique piece of fabric adds to the symbolic meaning of the symbols used.
